MavBridge™ Virtual Batching
In many payment processing centers, the handling of "clean transactions' such as a single check and payment coupon has become routine. Fully-automated, high-speed extraction machines can quickly remove clean payments from their envelopes, image the contents, and forward the images to a downstream processing system. For most processing centers, however, the struggle to deal with "exception" payments is an ongoing headache. Exceptions can include multi-coupon or multi-check payments, payments with no coupons, payments with correspondence, and many other variations.
Processing Exception Payments Wastes Time
The typical process for handling exception payments is labor intensive:
- Exception payments are removed from their envelopes by an operator sitting at a desk-sized extraction system.
- The operator separates the payments by transaction type and reorients the contents if necessary.
- When an operator has extracted, oriented, and sorted a sufficient number of a particular payment type, they can begin the batching process.
- Batching typically includes counting the pages and breaking them into a predefined number of pages per batch.
All of this represents time-consuming, boring work with plenty of room for errors.
Virtual Batching Eliminates the Waste
With Mavro Virtual Batching technology:
- All exception payments are simply extracted and scanned with no sorting required.
- The MavBridge™ software examines each image, identifies it as a check, coupon, correspondence, etc., and reorients the image if necessary.
- The MavBridge™ software takes this "unstructured stream" stream of mixed payment types, recognizes the document images included in each payment, and automatically sorts the payments into like types.
- The software creates a "Structured Virtual Batch" for each payment type and forwards the batches to the downstream processing system.
- Virtual Batching lets you create flexible queues based on transaction types, set processing tasks based on operator experience, and set the system to process high priority items first.
- You eliminate wasteful multi-touch processing.
With Virtual Batching in place, system becomes much more efficient, saving time and money and making it easier to meet your processing deadlines.
